Summary:

Assists in supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in delivering and merchandising beer/other malt liquors and non-alcoholic beverages for wholesale distributor by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Accompanies workers on visits to customers to evaluate work performance, ascertain customer problems, and detect market trends. Execute the opening duties of an area delivery manager, including coordinating new employee ride-withs, keying in orders and getting those put on appropriate routes. Execute the closing duties of an area delivery manager. Reviews new and delinquent accounts to ascertain market conditions and status of customers’ accounts. Confers with management and delivery personnel to formulate plans for meeting competition and improving sales. Monitor over and shorts to ensure drivers are turning in all monies collected. Listen to and resolve customer complaints. Ensure his/her subordinates have on proper uniform. Performs quarterly reviews on his /her staff. Works closely with the sales staff to become cross trained, enabling him/her to run a sales route if needed and or participate in other sales functions as needed Become familiar with entire market through the Ride With program. Maintains Company image. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Assists in the direct supervision of up to 8 employees in the Delivery function. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and six months to one year related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Other Qualifications:

Class A CDL with good driving record, ABC permit or eligibility, WorkSTEPS certification, Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, Strong customer service orientation, Must be available to be on-call on weekends on a rotating basis. Random substance screening required.

Physical Demands:

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 165 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include those required by the Department of Transportation.
