Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in delivering and merchandising beer/other malt liquors and non-alcoholic beverages for wholesale distributor by performing the following duties.
Ensures all activities, POS, and trade practices are in compliance with North Carolina ABC regulations. Seek out opportunities to sponsor special events, sports events, bands, karaoke, trivia or any current event that creates excitement or momentum. Visit establishments, such as bars, restaurants, bowling alleys, and clubs, to persuade customers to buy desired brands and promote sale of company products. Facilitate interaction and participation by secondary customers in promotional activities/contests. Stay abreast of current and future opportunities for promotions and communicate to On Premise Promotions Manager. Communicate events to sales staff to ensure adequate amount of product is available for events.
Ensure that national on-premise promotions are executed. Assist On Premise Promotions Manager with creating new, exciting activities that “fit in” with venues while keeping within budget. Ensure that brands distributed by Mims are fairly represented in a venue with daily/weekly/monthly pricing features. Build rapport with owners/managers to lead to profits for the company. Deliver promotional items, such as posters, glasses, napkins, and banners and arrange display of items in customer’s establishment. Interact with secondary customers and answer questions regarding products. Acquire and maintain knowledge base of products and vendors. Maintain company image and dress code by keeping appropriate business attire and appearance, including brand-identified clothing. Maintain and process mileage reports in a timely manner. Maintain documentation of money for payroll, trade spending, and promotional supplies and submit to the appropriate department in a timely manner. Create and file event document “Report Cards” with Miller Standards for every promotion.
Maintain promotional tracking logs to track on-premise activities and to also use as a “receipt” that can be billed back to the breweries for co-op assistance. Assist in the preparation for invoices for bill-backs to suppliers quarterly with supporting documentation. Assist in the preparation of credit card and cash account receipts to the Accounting Department in a timely manner. Utilize POS that is available within budgetary and supply limits. Distribute POS items fairly and wisely at promotional events. Oversee and manage Miller Brewing Company’s Responsibility Initiative. Accurately maintain and process expense reports in a timely manner. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations regarding the sale and consumption of products. Provide On Premise Territory Manager with a schedule of events for the current week and a recap of the prior week’s events. Keep cell phone usage within budget. Promote company safety policies and programs. Other duties as assigned.
Manages 20-25 part-time employee spokes models. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be available to work promotions afternoons/nights/weekends. Must have ABC permit or be able to obtain an ABC permit. Clean driving record is a must.
