Summary:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping of products, materials and supplies in warehouse by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists in successful loading of product by preparing pick list and routing invoices. Oversees unloading of trucks by supervising, calling, or checking orders. Assists with maintenance of warehouse by restocking and cleaning. Assists in days close-out by checking in drivers and salespeople. Assists in maintaining rotation of all products in warehouse. Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems. Schedules work for special and periodic inventories. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Issues written and oral instructions. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances. Assists with reclamation of damaged merchandise. Adjusts errors and complaints. Assists in performing duties of Warehouse Manager when Manager is out due to vacation or illness. Keeps company current by performing other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises 4 to 8 employees in the Warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related warehouse and supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Other Qualifications:

ABC permit, valid NC Drivers license, forklift certified

Physical Demands:

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 165 pounds.
